These most recent paintings allude to places in the Arnold Arboretum. I composed each painting from several photographs, and rearranged the images into invented locations. Through this departure from the actual site, I explore verticals, horizontals, and diagonals, as well as foreground, middle ground, and back ground - the essential elements of landscape depiction.
